If you are roleplaying as a murderous psychopath, however, this quest is fantastic. You can technically avoid any faction reputation loss by letting the NPCs kill the Legion, but this feels counterintuitive to what the situation implies. Backstabbing the Legion is a horrible idea for those characters, hence why many players never complete this quest. Most characters that kill Rose are evil, which usually aligns with Ceaser's Legion characters. In typical Fallout fashion, the deal goes south, forcing players to fight the Legion.
